JavaScript/ Flash

I have a website:
www.albanyattackpack.com that has a flash navigation bar on the left side of the page.

I wanted to add a Javascript scroll message box to highlight information.

They will not work together. Are Java and Flash mutually exclusive? If I comment out the flash object, things work fine.

Is there a way to get them to work together?

Do you use scripting in that flash? Maybe some functions or variables has the same name/value, this could be a problem.
