only bad thing is that there's a big space above Newest MIDI Files / Ringtones which looks a bit odd...

There is supposed to be a google ad that displays there. Maybe it didnt show up when you viewed the page.

I like how you have the genres listed right below the main banner. Makes it really easy to select what you want.

I know the site would look so much better if you moved that google ad though. I know you want everyone to see it, but even putting it vertically on the side would be way better.

I noticed since we launched this new design that most people avoid that big banner. Its makes sense to reposition it in a better place. The sidebar might work but I dont want it to over take the other information that is there.

Any suggestions on best placement of that ad?

I think you should move the big horizontal google ads to the bottom below the comments and above the footer and maybe center it.
