is frontpage the way to go to design a site? how about publisher or dreamweaver?

I am going to design a site for myself, only because i can not find a site builder that offers all that i need/want.

I am building a site that is going to be a paid membership section with phpBB forums and some downloadable content.
also need to intergrate a shopping cart for non members to purchase the downloadable content.

thing is the sitebuilders such as yahoo sitebuilder and godaddy site tonight can not intergrate with membership traking programs such as Amember and or they do not have the phpbb forums available.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

Joe.

I'm sure this is nowhere near the answer your looking for... But have you considered hiring someone?

You could do it like a home improvement project where you do as much work as possible yourself. Just bring in the hired help to do the things your unsure about.

this is for a conceptual idea that I had, do not know if it will work yet. so I don't want to spend too much on it (already spent a lot on marketing and other things). plus I am a control freak!:)

See if something at http://opensourcecms.com will already do most of what you need.

I have the ability to use (thru godaddy) PHPnuke, mambo, xoops, and or Joomala to develop my site. *are these site building tools such as yahoo sitebuilder or godaddy site tonight*

what is the best? pros/cons
what is the easiest? pros/cons

I am also going to intergrate "amember" and "smf" forum.
anybody know Amember does it work well? is there any other program like it?
