Anyone else have this IE Frame.dll error after doing MS updates. It's been going on for a while. I have read some blogs, and read alot about the problem. Many people seem to have the same issue. The only fix out there seems to be for Vista, and doesn't work with XP?

Did you try uninstalling IE and reinstalling it? I take it you are using IE 7.0? Is it generating a runtime error? Do you have the error code? You might try re-registering frame.dll.
Try this: Open Internet Options>Advanced tab>Reset IE settings. Restart IE and see what happens. If the IE Frame.dll issue is gone after doing above, it means one of your add-on was affected while updating IE.
If the above will not help:

I am using IE7. Sorry about that. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it. Doesn't seem to help.
The error message is
"File Download -Security Warning"
Name: nacancl
Type: unknown file type,2.64KB
From : ieframe.dll
Save or cancel
If you save nothing happens and if you cancel IE closes. I have recreated the file using:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{EAB22AC0-30C1-11CF-A7EB-0000C05BAE0B}]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{EAB22AC0-30C1-11CF-A7EB-0000C05BAE0B}\1.1]
@="Microsoft Internet Controls"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{EAB22AC0-30C1-11CF-A7EB-0000C05BAE0B}\1.1\0]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{EAB22AC0-30C1-11CF-A7EB-0000C05BAE0B}\1.1\0\win32]
@="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\ieframe.dll"
That didn't help. I have heard some people saying it has an Event ID (1) and if you take the (1) out it works. This seems to help with the Vista OS, but I have XP.
Some have gotten the error as
res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm# but I get it as above.
Thanks to anyone that may be able to help.

I got this message trying to browse to any webpage and the message 'page cannot be found'. So I could not surf any longer. The cause was a recent update (14 july 2007) of MS Windows (XP and IE7). The update allows Windows Securitycentre to update. This causes a conflict between Windows Securitycentre and the firewall of GData with as result the blockade of the internet. I had to remove all rules for services and applications which use the internet in the GData firewall and restart the pc.
Windows firewall must be disabled and and Windows Securitycentre may not communicate with the internet if asked so.
It solved the problem. Windows updates may cause a lot of trouble more than once.
