Simple... How do I get my webite to show up in google and yahoo searches?

1. Write content that people want to read.

2. Get related sites to link to it.

Once you have done that then the search engines will find your page.

google: "url submit" its not by any means guaranteed but it will inform google you are there.

Your page needs to appeal too the key words you want to show under. if the keywords are common you are unlikely to get into the first few pages

Think about it logically you are adding content to your site if your blogs contain content on the keywords you want to show for your website contains more valued content for them keywords which will increase your page rank.

Hey guy,

Some basics to promote your website (SEO):
1. Site maps are very important to Google and Yahoo
2. and felgal said, content, content and some more relevant content will do your site wonders, the point is RELEVANT content.
3. Links TO other sites and links FROM other site, the more links you have from sites that are RELEVANT to your content the more you go up.
4. Some thing we often forget is that the way your site is built is crucial for Google's ability to read it.
Now i'm not talking about obvious issues like the fact the Google can't read flash sites,
a. I'm talking of CLEAN HTML CODE (or whatever language it's written in)
b. Good separation between text and images
c. Titles, Meta and Descriptions

Well, I guess you got the point :)

You have to follow some principles of seo
Do's
1. Site Study
2. Competitor Analysis
3. Keyword Analysis
4.Website Optimization - familier with all tags, content preperation, validation, sitemap creation, inter-link connectivity etc.
5. Wesite Submission- Familier with directory, article forum submissions etc.
6. Monitoring and reporting- weekly or monthy reports....

Google is somewhat aware of this tactic and penalizes for it. A good 'keyword' should be included in every instance of any "<h>" tag. this is a valuable way of getting useful content organized, and spider/'bots read "<h>"-tags.
Stick to good content, and links with 'meaningful text'... not "click here" to visit Joe's Hardware Store... If the link goes to Joe's Hardware Store, make the link say:<a href="www.joes.com">Joe's Hardware Store</a> This makes the text "Joe's Hardware Store" index-able. "Click here" is non-semantic.. it 'means nothing' to a spider/'bot.
