Okay, I found a code for this, no problem...It's a nice code, but one minor problem. The author left their signature in there, and I thought of a way to get rid of it..by using the text replace code to make it just a space instead of a site name..You can look for yourselves, and try to toggle with it, and see if you get anywhere [can't delete the variable: var author = "www.dseffects.com": because he wrote it to where it would still appear, that's why I used the text replace code. I thought it worked, but there's a tiny box at the top of the page]..http://webdeveloper.earthweb.com/repository/javascripts/2001/10/63401/DS_Snow.html

If you cant do anything with that, please let me know if you found any other codes...it would be greatly appreciated

Time to search even more

Thanks again

try this, its what i used for my site:

http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex3/rain.htm

you can toggle between rain and snow, and adjust everything, and it doesnt have any credit things in the corner:D

That's very nice you've removed someone's signature, but don't code authors have a right to be credited for code they write and distribute for free?

I sense an impending flame war...

if you are using someone else's code and they have attempted to make it difficult to remove their signature, then they probably want credit for the code. if you want "clean" code you could write your own or ir appears you can buy the code at that site. it is probably not up to us to help get around this for you.

just my view :)

NO WAY! There is no way I would remove an author's signature! I would put it in the source code, but not on the page, that's why I am complaining...Did you take a look at the code? It'll be everywhere on the page, whether you scroll up or down...That's why I'm asking if there's any other codes

yes, I looked at the code and the site. I think my answer is still correct.

I would have no problem having the author's signature on my site, but I told someone I would find a code for them, because they are making a site with a 'winter' theme...I didn't want to give him a code with something added on to it...If I needed it, I would be glad to use it :)

But, since I'm NOT using it [a friend is], I used DWs link

Personally I believe you should credit the author in the site, not just the source, but I suppose that's better than nothing.

However, the author actually allows you to register to remove the credits link, for a fee. If he wants to force a credit, surely we should not try to remove it - it's his option.

Otherwise, write your own code, or pay fairly for it.

Well, that makes sense...I told him to take out the code I sent him [without the sig kinda], and I gave him the new code...It's just that his site is a message board, and it would look kind of bad with a link everywhere, well, for him it might - a normal site if he was making, I wouldn't have started this thread
