Is there a script to stop popups that you do not want?

nope...however there is a browser that can do this for you.
download mozilla based browsers(NS6+)
With that you can allow popups from certain sites and block all others.

and scroll down to where you see mozilla 1.3

download its the best so far.(IMHO)
