JPnyc 07-25-2007, 04:08 PM Editing and deleting of posts is not permitted. The option to edit expires in 30 minutes from the time the post is submitted. As stated in the acceptable use policy, linked at the bottom of every page, and which you agreed to when you joined: By posting messages, uploading files, inputting data, or engaging in any other form of communication through this service (collectively "the content"), you are granting Jupitermedia Corp., its successors and assignees, a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide license to use, adapt, transmit, publicly perform or display any such content on the site to which it was contributed (or successor site). In plain English, you allow us to continue to display your contributions to the site. We won't do anything else with them, however. gmpredut 08-06-2007, 09:30 AM Delete this post, please http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/showpost.php?p=787824&postcount=14 . I would imagine that this is limited best practice to borderline lapses of judgement in posting (like calling some person a mildly derogatory, insulting or diminutive name). Heck, -I have in the past called people whom have slighted me 'a little jerk!' and later, -wished I could 'take it back'. -Basically, -some service provider peeved you and you think that it's retarded... and later wish to change that to a more benign (e.g.)patently unfair and your 30-min. expiry has occurred, I at least would be willing to edit the change. I would not want to make a habit of being everyone's personal copyeditor, though. As far as changing or deleting an entire post (in such case as your suggestion was incorrect and someone else respectfully espounds upon it), removing or grossly editing your post would change the thread and subsequent posts so significantly so as to render the thread useless probably would not be an acceptable use of moderator-editing. webdeveloper.com
