Just upload the powerpoint ot your website, say the name of it was powerpoint1, then you can just access it from the web:
http://yoursite.com/powerpoint1.ppt
That should do it. :)

The offered solution only places the file on the web for download.
If you want to make it actually viewable on the net in a webbrowser it gets much more difficoult though.

I loaded the ppt presentation and it looks good on ie but gives a message that it has been altered and it cannot be loaded!:confused:
What can I do that it can viewed under ie and netscape? I understand that ppt is microsoft like ie is, but it cannot be possible that the other option cannot be there at all!!!
What can I do?
Also, on ie, the ppt has the left column that has the headings of each slide. Is there a way to get rid of it and just have the presentation? I would prefer that (if I had an option)
Any codes that would do that?

typically if you have published file correctly,MS Power Point shows a wizard where it gives you a choice to publish your presentation for IE specifically or for both NS and IE
Try to republish it and go through the help files

It's worse then that AFAIK.
If you don't have PowerPoint installed on your comp I don't think you can view the file at all.

Having never tried this, I still thought the info would give you another option to try for putting a PowerPoint presentation on the web.
As you have already discovered, when you just put the .PPT file on the web, it can be downloaded, but cannot be seen as a presentation unless the user happens to have PowerPoint on board, and you cannot offer them a download of PowerPoint software.
HOWEVER, on the Microsoft Office (97) CD, there is a section with many utilities and viewers, among which is a PowerPoint Viewer that allows people who do not have PowerPoint to see a PowerPoint presentation. Following is information directly from the Help screen in PowerPoint (97):
===Begin===
The PowerPoint Viewer
The PowerPoint Viewer is a program used to run slide shows on computers that don't have PowerPoint installed. You can add the Viewer to the same disk as a presentation by using the Pack and Go Wizard. Then you can unpack the Viewer and presentation together and run the slide show on another computer. You can also create a play list to use with the Viewer so you can run multiple presentations, one after another.
The Viewer, which can be freely distributed with no additional license, comes with PowerPoint and is located in the Office 97 ValuPack folder on the CD-ROM. If you didn't install PowerPoint from a CD-ROM and you have access to the World Wide Web, point to Microsoft on the Web on the Help menu, and then click Free Stuff.
You can also download the Viewer and get updates and additional information from the PowerPoint Web site. On the Help menu, point to Microsoft on the Web, and then click Product News.
The Viewer that comes with PowerPoint 97 supports all PowerPoint 95 features and can be used with both PowerPoint for Windows and the Macintosh.
===End===
Theoretically (and I believe one of the purposes they provide the viewer), one could put the .PPT file on the web to be viewed, and if they do not have PowerPoint, offer then the install file for the viewer...just as is the case for people who do not have Flash or Shockwave software, etc.
Good luck!

Have you tried just saving it as a webpage?
