Or just plain old DOS, ftp.exe Jupac 08-18-2003, 07:32 PM WOW it is good but i got 1 question is it only the pro version that is the 30 day trial or is it both thatnkx Jupac 08-18-2003, 07:41 PM & do u think tese is better? http://www.3dftp.com/ brendandonhue 08-18-2003, 07:48 PM WS_FTP LE is free, the pro version is a trial. pyro 08-18-2003, 08:27 PM The Pro version is also very nice. That is what I personally use. Also, in IE6 (and possibly other versions/browsers) you can FTP to your site by typing ftp://ftp.yourdomain.com. Charles 08-19-2003, 05:31 AM 1) An FTP program ships with Windows. Open up the DOS shell and type"ftp". 2) HTML Kit has built in ftp capabilities and a whole lot of other things that you willm wonder how you lived without. See http://www.chami.com/html-kit/. Compguy Pete 08-19-2003, 08:42 AM WS_FTP LE can be free however you have to answer the questions correctly in order to qualify for the free version. think "student" pyro 08-19-2003, 10:21 AM lol... The way I figure it... ;) AdamBrill 08-19-2003, 05:04 PM WS_FTP LE is shareware, available for free to educational users, government employees (U.S. local, state, federal and military) or to non-business home users onlyYou can use WS_FTP LE as long as you aren't using it for your business... PeOfEo 08-19-2003, 05:07 PM what about the ftp client build into windows xp. AdamBrill 08-19-2003, 05:37 PM Originally posted by PeOfEo what about the ftp client build into windows xp. Do you mean ftp.exe in dos?? If so, don't you think that WS_FTP LE is just a little bit easier to work with? Charles 08-20-2003, 05:29 AM Originally posted by AdamBrill Do you mean ftp.exe in dos?? If so, don't you think that WS_FTP LE is just a little bit easier to work with? Using ftp.exe is pretty darn easy, unless you are GUI dependent. DaveSW 08-20-2003, 07:10 AM guess most web developers are GUI dependant. look at all the wysiwyg editors out there! AdamBrill 08-20-2003, 07:37 AM Originally posted by Charles Using ftp.exe is pretty darn easy, unless you are GUI dependent. Well, yes, it is pretty easy, but I'm sure you would admit that it isn't as easy as WS_FTP. It is one thing when you are uploading once in a while, but if you are doing it all the time, any GUI would be a definate time saver... ;) PeOfEo 08-21-2003, 09:17 PM You can use it with a gui if you like, As my memory serves me if you type ftp://something into a folder it will open an ftp directory and I thought that used the same exe or atleast some of the same scripts but I could be mistaken. Even if it doesnt thats what I always do, open my ftp in a folder and have xp remember my login, its pretty darned easy I dont know why you would want cute ftp or any other client. brendandonhue 08-21-2003, 09:33 PM ^^There are added features of some clients. PeOfEo 08-21-2003, 09:38 PM like what? I have only used separate ftp clients once or twice but I never noticed anything that made them worth buying or getting illegally. spykemitchell 10-05-2003, 01:26 PM Does WS_FTP LE have chmod capabilities? I saw it on the net when i searched for FTP programs but i could not find much info... Compguy Pete 10-05-2003, 01:38 PM yes it does... webdeveloper.com
