How do they do the preload? (easier to notice on 56k). It loads the whole page, then it displays it so that the transition looks good.
As you can see in the tagboard, one of the owners told me it was HTML, but I couldn't find it.

Yeah, that's a great site.
There's more people than pyro that can answer this, I'm sure.

You say that now, but after a few days on these forums you'll see he makes up 90% of the replies...

Yes, that is a very nice site.
But for me and my 56k Modem (always connected at 31.2kbps) it takes a while for the page(s) to load.

Charles and Dave reply alot too.
Dave used to reply to alot of stuff at the old forum. (the nearly-text-only days. damn, getting nostalgic...)

I have cable, but f*cking Comcast is down. Everyone else on my block has it. They say it's my cable modem, but I know it isn't because the cable modem kept my Comcast IP(even after I couldn't see pages) till the support peeps told me to release then renew my IP.

Are you trying to preload the Flash movie, or other content?

See, I would get DSL, but I can't.
But I can't...it's not offered where I am.
And the line for Cable, ends at the top of the hill I live on, and about twice as far down. The only thing I can get, is Satillite Internet. And the resident computer Wiz, (My brother) says it's not worth it.

As far as preloading all content, you could do it by using JavaScript, but will probably end up with a page that doesn't show for the 13% of users who do not have JavaScript enabled.

Hello, I'm new here. I had a question but thought I could answer this. I could be way off on this but I think this tag

"<META http-equiv=Page-Enter content=blendTrans(Duration=0.5)>"

is giving the desired result. I admit that the only reason I suggest this tag is because I have never seen it used before and the wording looks like it could give the delay.

Nope, that won't do it. That will simple give the page a transition when the page is entered. (I think it is also IE only)

anything to do with the following?

BODY{
background-color:transparent;
}
-->
</style>
<META http-equiv=Page-Enter content=blendTrans(Duration=0.5)>

<script language="JavaScript1.2">
