Xml - Sharepoint

Hi all,

I am trying to work out the XML data that has been retrieved from Sharepoint portal server.
I successfully displayed the table names from a particular database.
But i couldn't retrieve the data under the individual table.
I am connecting to sharepoint using the web services and not using sharepoint dll since sharepoint has been installed in a remote server.
so any suggesstion to work this out is appreciated million times..
