hi, attempting my first flash animation

my background being in 3ds max

i have a transition effect where i have my background going from 0% opacity to 100% opacity over a span of 20 frames

but i then want the image to stay there, viewing at 100% opacity and for some reason it wont do that..

i accidently managed to do it with other images on other layers
they appear to have a verticle line on the timeline where their animated sequence ends and is then able to hold the image after that part.

but this one doesn't and i dont know how to make it stay on the screen once the effect has finished..

hope i make some sense

anyhelp would be great

thanks
jamie

Sounds to me as if you need to set up 2 layers at least.

1. For the static background image
and
2. For any transitions on top of that.

Hope this helps

i managed to solve the problem myself...

yes i did think of doing 2 seperate layers, thanks for that...

what i did was to start over and add a new keyframe at the very end of my animation so that i was then able to add keyframes in between and do as i wished in between those new keyframes after that.

trying to add a keyframe after a previous keyframe wasn't working

thanks for your reply

oh im confused with what the problem actually is.

I always work with the end frame, being just an extension of the original key frame, unless i want an action.

Background images, usually dont require an action as they are "static"

Anyway, glad you got it down.
