Creating a Hypertext application

Hi,


I am in doubt which web tools I must use (besides ASP, CSS, HTML, MSSQL and perhaps javascript) because when I was reading something about "hypertext" and specially "hypertext application to E-Learning" and "software development for WEB" I fond strange nouns like:

EHDM (Educational Hyperdocuments Design Method),
DAPHNE (Definition of hypermedia Applications in the Education)
MDE (Model for Distance Education)
HMBS (Hyperdocument Model Based on Statecharts)
CyberQ
Petri Networks

and so on!

These tools are essentials for developing a Hypertext or Hypermedia WEB application?
