Access a forbidden directoy

Hey I have a folder on my server that I want people to be able to open up to download images from, but everytime I go the folder in my web browser I get a 403 Forbidden Error. How can I change this so it will allow me to access the folder?

Try putting an htaccess file in there with an allow indexs.
