Hey everyone. I was hoping to get a few people to review my site and offer some constructive feedback.

My site: www.whyilovechicago.com
This site is intended to be a resource for both tourists and residents of Chicago. The primary focus is to allow registered users to post their favorites things in Chicago ; secondary focus is to provide Restaurant Reviews and links to attractions in the city.

Off the bat (so don't rub it in):
- most of the pages are W3C valid
Exceptions:
- anything in /forum/
(Snitz's forum code doesn't validate, and I haven't had time to fix it)
- anything in /calendar/
(again, vCalendar's code)
- I need more content on the interior pages

What I'm hoping to hear about:
I'm looking to see what people think about the concept and my site delivers on its intent. Also, I'm looking for feedback on the continuity between pages and basic layout.

Thanks!

Nice concept, but I find your colour scheme and general layout a weensie bit mediocre - it's just another website giving me random info. Not entirely sure what would be best to make it stand out from the crowd a bit more, but I'm thinking more colour! It's all very white and bland. Bringing some of that green in your logo further down the page should help.

Just a grammar thing, your page title hasn't got a capital letter on "Attractions".

It is a good idea, though.

I don't share your passionate about Chicago, but I do like the site - the layout is neat, the colour scheme is light and simple, and the navigation is neat and presentable, as well as being repeated in a simpler form at the bottom of the page, which means you can see some form of navigation from most of the page despite its height.

The one thing which I feel could be improved is the placement of the logo at the top: it shifts the entire content down by a fair bit, which means that only a small amount of actual content is initially visible.

All in all, I like the site. Congrats :)

Thanks for the great feedback!

I have thought about moving the logo down, or incorporating it into another part of the page. I may even do something else with the space next to it (maybe have an RSS news ticker or something)

Thanks!!!

No problem.

Agh, you can tell which posts I've sent at 2am or so - I meant "passion", not "passionate" :p
