Site displays differently in IE and Firefox

Hi, I have a website that is displaying differently when opened in IE and Firefox. In Firefox, the site is displayed correctly. However, when opened in IE6, the left column (with opt-in form) gets pushed down to the bottom of the page. It's as if the column is too "wide". (sorry for the newbie terminology). Also, when the site is opened in IE7, it appears correctly.

I really don't know where to look in the code, as I'm a newbie to HTML/CSS coding. Can someone please help?!?
