I got a new harddrive for my desktop because I ran out of room haha. And I couldn't find an IDE drive so I had to get a SATA drive.

1. First, is there an adapter, maybe at MicroCenter, that will allow me to run the IDE Driver alongside the SATA drive?

But incase I can't, here is my problem. I got the harddrive installed and all that great stuff. But when I start up the computer I get the NTLDR is missing, which I was like maybe its because my OS hasn't been installed yet. I put in the dell operating system disk, and it won't start up to the disk, when I go to check the start-up order, it says the CD-Rom isn't installed. So, is there a install diskette that I can download, or am I just going about this all wrong?

Here are a couple of different things to try:

1) This SATA to IDE card: http://tinyurl.com/3xxcmp

2) Returning the SATA drive and getting a comp. IDE drive. I don't know your system specs or what size drive you bought, but you can get an ATA/133 320G Western Digital drive for ~$130 - http://tinyurl.com/37f3v3

Hope this helps,
