I'm not even sure what this is called, but I want my website to have an opening page that says something on it and then automatically go to the main website. I don't know what this is called or how to do this, so is someone could point me into the right direction so I could find some sort of code for it.

You could do it entirely with HTML using a meta refresh (http://www.google.com/search?q=meta+refresh+redirect) to do the redirect. And of course many sites use Flash "splash pages" to do this.

However, please reconsider: doing either of these probably will be considered a waste of time by many/most/all users visiting your site, and you are probably better off just getting the user to your main page as soon as possible, rather than annoying them with "flashturbation" or other gimmicks that delay them from getting to the content they are looking for.
