Is there a CGI script that can backup the entire website or a particular directory/ies on the website in zip format?

Is there an easier way. Is it possible to show the directory structure/files with check boxes. It is convenient to check the boxes against the directories/files that need to be backed up. A simple script for a layman - http://www.xyz.com/cgi-bin/backup.pl.
