Hi,

I suspect there is a simple answer to my question, but I feel it requires a bit of explanation so please do bear with the length of this post :)

I have a site that I’ve put together over time as a novice, trying to showcase the different cultures, lifestyles and interests of people I’ve met online as well as offering inspirational sayings, articles and other things. What I have ended up with is a lot of pages that I have to manually update with information people send to me via email or by posting at our forum.

My question: How do set up the showcase pages to have them updated by the contributors themselves?

I am having difficulty conceptualizing how this can be done because of the current structure of the website.

Right now from the homepage one can go off in several different directions: Library (which houses poetry page, fiction page, inspiration page etc. that link to pages that house individual poems, fiction, inspirations etc., each page with its own unique design): TV Room (again with other pages that link to various video contributions): Critic’s Corner (book and film reviews with the same design with links to individual review) and so on.

In addition to that basic framework, there is a forum using invisionfree. There is also an independent chatroom.

What I would like to be able to do is to have members be able to contribute directly to the website pages, updating with poetry and photos etc. and somehow integrate that with membership in the forum and possibly the chatroom. In other words, I would like for the member to sign up at the forum (or wherever else is convenience) and to somehow be able to add their contributions directly to any page that has user content.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can integrate these pages to make them more user friendly?

A CMS seems like the logical solution, but how to employ one to integrate the existing pages. Is there a way to do that so that someone can register once and then be able to add content to all the different pages once logged given the current structure of the website?

Or, I’ve thought of putting php coding with simple forms for data upload on the pages in question, but then how to integrate the membership and work with security issues?

Pardon if the solution seems readily apparent, but I feel stumped and I do look forward to making some quick improvements, so it would be a great help to hear your suggestions.

I recognize that the coding on the individual pages need to be improved and I will be developing css stylesheets etc. but I would like to move forward by first developing a better structure while keeping the original character of the site.

Thanks much.
