Ok...first off...yeah I'm a newbie....but anyways here's the question: Does anyone know how to keep a site from showing content until all the images are loaded into the cache? Thanks....

If the images are the first things on the page - i.e. at the top of the body section in your HTML, then you can force the browser not to load other things by not specifying the height and width of the image. But I can't really think of a reason that you would want to slow down your site's loading, since it will drive visitors away. Try making your images load faster rather than making everything else load slowly to make it seem better.

Well, let me explain somemore; On the left of my page I have a roll-over and image-map put together which has about 7 images, but to the left is some text which loads first and therefore loads all the way over on the left side until all of the roll-over images are loaded....I guess it's something I can deal with, but on a slow internet connection it just won't look right....I was just wondering if there was a way to keep the text on a page to keep from showing up until all of the images are in the cache?

Are you specifying the height and width for the images - normally this makes the text load correctly. You could just put the text in a div and position it where you want the text to go, thereby making it load in the right place. The only JavaScript solution that won't ever make your text never appear would be to preload the images on another page. Is this the sort of solution you wanted?

1) Why have you interrupted a useful thread with a totally different post?
2) 3/5. Tone it down a bit. More content, less animated GIFs and a slightly more reserved background colour.

First of all, thanks cijori....I guess all I really need to do is specify the height and width of the images...which will make the text look right while it's loading....but also....what is going on with Luke0? What is he doing cluttering up threads with useless junk?!!?! I mean this is a forum, not a place to advertise your own site! This is a place to get help; not customers! Or whatever your site is about.....(sigh)...anyway, thanks cijori, your answer was sort of a no-brainer; I should have just done that in the first place....

look, luke0, sorry I got so heated....I don't have anything against you or anything, I just question whether or not where you mentioned your site was the proper place or not....I checked out your site, and it's like really busy! Maybe tone it down a bit? And the items don't seem very ordered....like you got things all over the place...but the swirl thing is cool! But like cijori said...you need more content...I mean when you go to the site, the question you ask yourself is "Why am I here, and what am I doing?" Maybe make more of a purpose for your site....And make it look like something out of the 2000's....not the 70's (Like Psycho Man!!!!!:D )......
