mediawiki patch (on a windows box?)

Hi there. At work myself and a colleague are trying to implement mediawiki but with segregated namespaces. I know we need a patch for it (http://sourceforge.net/projects/hiddenwiki/) but it looks like this will be held on a windows box unfortunately.

Is it possible to run this patch on a windows box?

would it be best to install and patch on a linux box then ftp the files and directories to the windows box?
