shoutcast (icecast stats)

hi all, i was wondering if someone could help me, and im not sure if this should be in xml or php forum but i need....

a very simple script working for the icecast(similar to shoutcast)/cds server to display stats on my site.
Basically all i want is :

"The server is currently online/offline @ 126K
Listeners : {current amount of listeners}
Now playing : {current show}"

but i cant seem to get any of the scripts of the net working, iv got a feeling it could be because my server doesnt seem to let me take data from another server ,(or something like that, iv been told) any ideas??

im sure there will be hundreds of these scripts, but im more asking about the problem with my hosting not being able to take data from other servers, is there away around that?
