dropdown boxes

:confused: I have constructed a site and i want to include a function whereas if a user hovered or clicked on an image a dropdown box would appear with information relevant to the image hovered over or clicked on.
I did try using the 'alt' attribute but the text was too small and it was not on screen long enough for users to read. Could anyone help me plplease! Thanks :rolleyes:
