I had a referral from a pron site? but i'm not a porn site and i don't pay for ads?

any ideas why i would get a referral from a porn site? I don't pay for ads, and am not a porn site. I went to the site and it doesnt look like a place that people can post links in forums or anything. I am trying to figure out how I got a referral from them.

in my web stats, i have a history of what sites referred users to my site. this site has referred some through the links I have used to ask questions, the search engines refer users when an article i've written comes up in their search and they click through.

somehow, my url had to of come up on this porn site for someone to have been referred to me, but i have no idea how or why that might have happened, since I don't pay for ads and the site has no forums or anything, it is just a bunch of pornos on a page.

Sounds like someone spoofing the search engine.

will that hurt me in the search engine? and if so, what can I do to counteract it?

I don't know. You could get the IP of the other site and block it in your htaccess.

I get them occasionally. I think that the site uses a random link script, and it catches up one of my links every now and then.
