Ok, I bought hosting from my site through a friend, who runs a big website and gave me a cheap price since he has extra hosting.

So a few weeks passed by, and we eventually get into an argument, and he eventually brings up that he hosts my site and could redirect the domain to a p0rn site or something.

Isn't that illegal or something? Or is there a way I could stop him from doing this? (I don't think he will, but I'd rather not take the chance)

Well if he is in fact the owner/operator of the hosting then he can do anything he wants. Now, as for the legality of it... I'm not sure. I guess it would depend on several things. Like, where you live, where he lives, where the server is located, the laws in those areas, among other things.

Also, it depends on who owns the domain. If you own the domain and/or he doesn't have the password then he can't do much with your domain. But if he owns it and/or has access to it then he can pretty much do with it as he pleases. He can also put up a redirect in you're hosting space that will do what he says. Then he would not need the password for the domain. But then you could just log into your domain account and change the name servers so they don't point there anymore.

So, as you can see, it really depends on a lot of things. Perhaps if you post some more details about your situation someone can assist you further...

Well, I live in the USA, he's in the Netherlands. He bought the domain for me, but once I got access to the server I changed the password for the user in the cpanel.
