Something that I have seen a lot of my clients struggle with is coming up with a consistent branding concept or in other words they have no idea what makes their company different from every one of their competitors. Something that was recommended to me and has really helped me is this thing called the u-factor. It's a branding workbook that Fortune 500 companies use to brand themselves and the guys who made it also talk about how to use it to write an effective ad-copy. I have had a lot of my clients buy the workbook and then give me their answers to the questions and it has made my job so much easier. My only suggestion is that you need to have your clients buy the workbook themself because the company says in the workbook that if anyone shares it they will sue them. But it has been great for me and my clients love it. Most developers forget that although the website needs to look good companies need to present a good image of what makes them unique. This will help.
