Are you running windows server 2k3 off of your computer or something? I mean is your comp setup as a server so you can run asp.net? If you did not purposly do something like that it wont work because asp.net can't just run off a personal computer, you need a server to execture the code and send back the html to your browser.. Go to http://europe.webmatrixhosting.net and make an account and upload the files there if you do not have your computer configured as a server.

Hello,
i am working on windows 2000 server and IIS.
i am able to work other sample applications without any problem.
but i create those applications by selecting HTML page option in the Microsoft Visual Studio.NET. but now i selected
Microsoft Visual C#.Net.
system it self created one webapplication. in that folder i created one webform Dept.aspx and when i try to browse that form i encountered this problem.
Thanks

Ahhhh, In that case I would not know what the heck is causing the error, weird. So your vb.net stuff works but your c# doesn't? Or, well not vb.net but its the c#.net that causes the problem, and I dont use c# at all (let alone the .net studio for that matter, I do my stuff in dream weaver) I wish I could help but I have never touched that before.

BTW I think us asp.net ppl should start petitioning for our own forum :) Because posting asp.net stuff in an asp forum seems to cause confusion.
