Here is something quite interesting.

Take Mozilla/Gecko and mesh it with a few Linux Media Player Libraries.
A group of Mozilla developers did this; it's basically an itunes wannabe with browsing capabilities (and it looks AWESOME. Note the name of the default theme).

Anyways, right off it uses a developmental version of Gecko (so it's not entirely stable, but its fast). Underdeveloped tabbed browsing, slightly buggy minimal (to nonexistent device support), overall it still needs work. But it's a great piece of software. I give you the one, the only, the AWESOME, Songbird (http://www.songbirdnest.com/).

It really is a cool thing- I went into a state of Euphoria when I heard about it. 'twas great to hear that Gecko was slightly expanding beyond browsing.
But I don't use it regularly yet- it's still too early in its development.

I should say though, it's hard to understand it until you see the program yourself.

Gecko is not an organization, it's a product made by Mozilla. Songbird is not made by Mozilla, but by former or current Mozilla developers.

This looks pretty nice. Although one thing I love about linux is the simplicity and weight (or lack thereof) of all the applications. I'm worried this might end up being a little overbloated like alot of windows applications. Also I hope they have a debian build (on XP here at work, don't feel like searching for one). But it looks like a great app, I'll def keep an eye on it for when it starts getting closer to a 1.0 release.
