I don't know where to post this cuz I can't figure out how it works so I'm trying here. Hopefully someone smarter than me can point me in the right direction.

Go to this site: http://www.aftenposten.no/ (It's a huge Norwegian newspaper for those who want to know)

Scroll down until you hit the last ad on the right side. Notice how when you continue to scroll down this last ad "sticks" to the top of the window. If you scroll up again it'll stick to the top until it hits the rest of the sidebar content and then it "reattaches" itself and you can scroll past it.

I'm guessing this is some form of Java Script but the good programmers at Aftenposten know what they're doing and the code is hidden.

so, does anyone know how to do this or has anyone seen something like it before?

thanks

Could have found the script, but I don't read/speak Swedish plus the page uses over 60 scripts alone!

Might check out these and see if something works for you:

Flash Floating Menu (http://www.scriptfx.com/menus/flashfloat/example.htm)
Add a Floating Menu (http://allwebco-templates.com/support/S_script_floating.htm)
Floating Menu Script (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/staticmenu.htm)
Absolute Floating Menu (http://www.jtricks.com/javascript/navigation/floating.html)
Menu floats on scrolling (http://dhtml-menu.com/examples/ex12-floating-menu.html)
Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=myX&q=floating+menu&btnG=Search)

Some of these may be able to be modified to do the float with flash.
