Fonts and licensing

We are developing a web application, and one of the tools is a custom banner creator. At the moment I have the Red Hat Liberation fonts in there, but our clients want more. They want the standard set of fonts.

Does anyone know the legalities of distributing fonts in a commercial products?

Any and all help/links/ideas etc, welcome.

Most font sites tell you about the licensing. You might check out the Creative Commons to see if fonts are there. The site is really good on explaining the distribution permissions assigned to each item in its database.
