how can I keep the size of text from changing when you go to the ctrl+mouse scroll key then it gets bigger and then smaller.

I assume you are using Netscape 6 or newer. Netscape allows you to resize text no matter which unit of measure you specify font sizes in. In fact, the only browser that lets you specify a rigid font size is Internet Explorer for Windows. All other browsers on all other operating systems (at least the ones that count) allow users to resize text regardless of the unit of measure for the font size.
