I think what he is talking about is what they call a "favicon" which is used to make your site stand out in the users favorites or bookmarks menu. You can find out more about this here (http://www.favicon.com/). Hope this helps. :D

W3schools does it like this:
<link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="images/favicon.ico" />
Put that in your head tag and change "images/favicon.ico" to the directory where your favicon is. Hope that helps. :D

P.S. It has to be an ico file to work. :)

that works great in Moz but not in IE - any idea why ------- and thanks b.t.w.

I took a look at W3schools and if you add them to your favorites in IE first then it will display that whenever you come back. I don't know how to make it work without adding to your favorites though. :(
