Hi,

I want to try and develop some interactive tutorials for my kid; to help with social studies. I was going to try and use Flash, but $400+ is a bit steep just for playing around with (And I would definitely need more than 30-days to learn). I was going to try and use HaXe, but that might be a little over my head.

Anyone used HaXe? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

M

If you want something similar to Adobe Flash, try using OpenLaszlo (google it). It lacks a good IDE, but is a technology I've had my eye on (although haven't really used it). In today's world, though, 95% of the things done in flash can also be accomplished just using ajax.

Swish is your friend here. It's like flash (it actually produces flash) but is way simpler to use: http://www.swishzone.com/index.php?area=products&product=max&tab=purchase

It's a snip at £75 and you will be up and running in about 5 mins.
