Were trying to get our company website ranked higher on google. I understand the more sites that have a link to your site the higher your google ranking is, but I have one question. When someone agrees to link us on their site we give them a referal code, so the link the post on their website back to our site looks similar to...

Since each site that links us is going to have a different number how will that affect our ranking? does google go by the index file linked or by the actual URL including the...

I think it's the page itself. The more links to the page the more times the spider recrawls that page.
