You are probably going to call me a muppet, but I recently downloaded the latest managed code version of directx, only to find the documentation was in the form of xml files.

I tried to read these in IE7 and Office 2003 (student edition) but to no avail, I could only display the source code.

Please could somebody tell me how I can read these documents in web like form?

best regards

That would be the new office format, go to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HA100444731033.aspx

Cheers TheBearMay.
Unfortunately this did not solve it. I think there is a problem with XML and the student edition of word 2003. Sorry I am not uptodate on that, I just don not write many leters etc.

It seems that I am missing some default files from Microsoft, ie xml schema, xls and/or xlst that enable my machine to view the xml doc's. I have downloaded XML Notepad and that is complaining that they are missing. I am surprised that IE7 isnt playing ball though.

Any other idea's mate, I am quite an experienced developer but this is bugging me no end. I just want to get the documentation and get on with my VB and DirectX coding.

Cheers

I could probably find it, but to save time, can you zip the files and attach them to this thread. I'll take a look at them and see if I can open them for you and convert them back to 2003.

Looks like you're missing the xslt file which would fix the appearance for you. I've found what looks to be the same information from the DirectX SDK in more "friendly" format, but haven't found the xslt file yet.
