I am on XPSP2 Home. I use IE 6 and Firefox.
I run an adult cam directory, and any site that I check in
IE 6, that uses the swflash embedded, for live cams,
times out in 1 way or another.
I get their messages like:
"Performer has left", or "Tired of timing out?" or "Unauthorized Domain",
even though they are really live.
(I check in Firefox to verify).

I have the newest flash plugins for IE and for Firefox.

I can see regular flash, and regular swf, but when they are in cam sites,
with applets similar to below, I cannot see anything.
I have changed my settings in IE security to, 3 or 4 times.
WHAT am I missing????
Any suggestion will be welcomed! I don't know what
else to try.
I do NOT have my firewall active when testing.

TIA!
HERE ARE ROUGH EXAMPLES OF WHAT DOES NOT WORK.

try downloading the latest version of the flash plugin and the latest internet explorer then give it another try I have had a computer do that before and it was just because IE 6 is a little buggy sometimes.... you might just have you re-install your software.

copirite: Thank you for the quick reply!

YOU SAID: "try downloading the latest version of the flash plugin and the latest internet explorer

IE 6 is a little buggy sometimes....
you might just have you re-install your software."

I JUST reinstalled my XPSP2 via slipstream, so everything
on my machine is fairly new and fresh.
The 'flash' and shockwave plugins for IE and Firefox I have re-installed last week.
I tried to repair IE, it did not work.
I tried to reinstall IE, but it says the version I have is newer than the one I am installing.
I have all the XP and IE6 updates is prolly why :(
I have not seen anyplace to uninstall IE either.
ACK!
This is totally ridiculous. I have never had this problem before, and it's making me crazy!!! LOL!
I DO have picture caps of the timeout errors I receive.
I will post them is everyone is of age, as they are
from adult webcams.

I will post them if everyone is of age, as they are
from adult webcams. Don't do it, -it'll be deleted by a Moderator such as myself. There are minors on this forum..

I already know what the link is but considering most of the time I check webdeveloper at work I can't look at to see what your problem is. so I will have to do it on the weekend... and get back to you

OK,
I will be around unless someone comes up with some sort or solution, short of installing IE 7 :(
That is the VERY last thing i want to do!

VERYYYY interesting!
I found yet another type of embedded flash that will not load in IE.
This one actually says "The movie will not load".

Here is the code, minus the real URL:
<embed src="http://www.NAMECHANGED.com/flv_player/flvplayer.swf" width="470" height="264" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" flashvars="&file=http://NAMECHANGED.COM/trailers/trailer.flv&height=264&width=470&link=http://secure.NAMECHANGED.com/track/ABcDe0Mw&linkfromdisplay=true&linktarget=_blank" />

===========
While I am here, where might I find an embed tutorial for VERY beginners? I need it for swf and flv.
I have tried a few different sites and I can not make any sense out of them. TIA!
