hey guys, i need some help. :S


op what i want to do is have a site. lets say that my domain is shannighan.com


i want information and referance a database but instead of using something like:

www.shannighan.com/information.php?num=1234

i want it to look like

1234.shannighan,com/information.php

i have seen this done, so i know its possible. can somebody please explain to me how this works?

You'll probably want to look into sub domain and whether your hosts supports them.

my host does allow subdirectories, thats not the problem.

He said sub*domain*, not sub*directory*...

Unless I'm totally misunderstanding what you're trying to do, a sub-domain is what you need. Other than that, your brief responses have me confused.
