Need help making js search engine

I need a javascript search engine that will let people search for things other than .html (e.g. .jpg .gif etc.). I also want it also to make it so just enter the url of my website somewhere in it (so that I could put it on my other sites :D ). please help or give example.

uhh well ive made complex code that did it and they worked, were about 20 pages long, and got to the point that i forgot how they worked(lol)

but still they weren't the greatest, try a different scripting language like keep a database of all the file names and links to them and have it search the database....
