I currently use Fireworks to mock up my sites and to be honest I absolutely love it.
However, I want to get a job as a web designer and the majority of places ask for experience in Photoshop. I've got Photoshop but so far my attempts to mock up even the most basic of sites seems to end in frustration, and I end up going back to Fireworks.
One thing in particular that I haven't managed to figure out is this. Let's say I mock up a page with a header that's 100 pixels high, but later on decide I want to make it 90 pixels high. As far as I can tell there's no way to access the exact dimensions of the box and just type in "90" - is that right? If so, it seems a little crazy.
When designing web pages it seems pretty important to be able to access exact pixel dimensions, but I just can't figure out how. Can anyone point me in the right direction, either by telling me how or recommending some good tutorials?
Thanks,
Pete
