Does anyone know of any very good watermark software that's either free without any advertisements on, or reasonably priced and have experienced using it? Thanks in advance :) LeeU 01-31-2008, 04:36 PM Do you have Photoshop? If so, check this (http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/photoshop/ht/apswatermark.htm). WebJoel 01-31-2008, 06:46 PM "PaintPro" has a watermark feature and it launches you into a site that you register-and-purchase a 'licence' for, say, 1000 uses, their watermarking service. You embed an invisible/or nearly invisible watermark indicata onto the image and you can host it online. If anyone 'steals' the image and uses it on their own site, -well... The registrar of the watermark has assigned unique identifier numbers to your '1000 uses' and if YOUR image is found on someone ELSE'S site, they report it back to you, so you can decide how to proceed. I'm sure that this company has 'advice' at this point as to what your option are.. Basically, it is a tattletale reporting service. Advantage is that your images can remain visibly watermark-free, yet still enjoy the security of copyright while a policedog agency is actively scouring the 'net, seeking your © registry digits... Just a 'visual' watermark is also good, it keeps the novy kiddies from lifting your images. Anyone really good with Photoshop/PaintPro can probably 'heal' any image that has a visible "copyright" on it. -Just depends upon how stealthy you want to go. I'm kinda cheap so I don't want to pay for the 'stealthy' watermark but if I had a client with a few hundred say, -photographers that does wedding album pictures to post online, -and s/he expressed concerns over intellectual property theft, I'd be wise to invest in stealthy watermarks.. Reminds me... -did anyone here hear more about that incident a few months ago of some mother's child's image appearing on (I think it was "Pampers") diaper packaging, -without parental consent or renumeration?! Apparently, someone 'snapped an image' of a cute child and sold it through a image clearing house 'as their own intellectual property' and it ended up on a marketing product without the parent's consent! -Marketing agency err, no doubt about it. But I beleive that the diaper company settled, graciously, citing no contest. As the parent of an awesomely cute child I worry about shutterbugs taking photos in the park, the drop-in center, anywhere my child is for that matter. Someone could find that image and be thinking 'Oh, -that one's cute! -And hey, -that one is sellable!' Etc... MrMegaFlump 02-25-2008, 07:04 AM Thanks for the advice. :) robertketter 02-26-2008, 09:24 PM http://bokehman.com/watermark SyCo 02-28-2008, 04:06 PM The Gimp is free from gimp.org and is an excellent editor I rank secod to Photoshop. To add a watermark: Open your image, add a new layer, add your text, reduce the text layer's opacity, flatten the image and save the file. webdeveloper.com
