What software to use?

I'm just getting into the whole web development/design stuff and I'm looking around for what kind of software I need. So, does anyone have any suggestions for software to create flash that is affordable? I'm a college student, so free stuff is good :D I've never used flash before, so something simple and easy would be great, but with the option to go more advanced. Also, any links to online tutorials/learn flash stuff would be great.

I haven't used it myself, but it's cheaper than Flash and they claim it's easy to use. They do have a free download available.
