For moz just install to a different folder. You may need to create new shortcuts, but it does work.
IE is more difficult. You need either two pc's or two hard drives, or to partition your hard drive into 2 bootable sectors. I don't think it's possible to have 2 versions of IE on the same machine, without partitions or extra hard drives.

Yeah. I used 'I don't think' because I'd love to be told I'm wrong...
lol... Yeah, unfortunatly, anything I've every tried/read supported that statement. But, I agree, if anyone proves me/us wrong, I'd be quite happy... :D

i have a 120G disk which still has a couple of free partitions -- what do i do?? install a new copy of windows to that section -- if that's it then how do i determine what version of IE gets installed --- if this is really awkward then dont worry about it but if its not too dificult then i'd like to give it a try ( notwithstanding the fact that it is a real pain to have to do it in the first place ) --
i tried to install NN to a different folder but it overwrote the origional program -- does anyone know how to do that
(haven't tried that with moz but i will now)

You may have to create a new shortcut to the program - locate it on your hard drive, and then create a shortcut to each.
If you already have free partitions on your pc, then all you have to do is install windows onto one of them. I think if you insert the disk while booting (you may need to change the boot sequence) then install windows, it should offer you a choice of folders to install it to. Check with someone else on that one tho. I don't use XP yet.
If you want an older version of IE than is bundled with your windows version then you need to get hold of an older version of windows I think - IE doesn't like being removed.
Installing multiple versions (http://www.quirksmode.org/browsers/explorer5win.html), 4 and 5 or 5.5. On XP Pro 5.5 and 6. Who is brave enough?
Heck, I might try it. I've got Win XP Home, so who knows if it will work, but if it does, it'll save myself the headache of using a different computer to test my pages on IE 5.5. Not sure if I'll have time today, but I'll report back once I've tried this.
Amazing!
After following this article (http://www.insert-title.com/web_design/?page=articles/dev/multi_IE) I now have IE 5.5 and IE 6 running simultaneously. I'm downloading IE 5.01 and will be installing that one next. I'm very, very impressed, and will be writing the author to thank him for writing that.
On Win XP Home? Keep us posted, I may be joining you soon!
Yes, I now have IE 5.01 SP2, IE 5.5 SP2 and IE 6.0 running simultaneously on XP Home. The browsers don't run perfectly, but well enough for me to do the testing that I need them for, I think.
I have just installed IE4 next to IE6 on XP Home.
Full testing to follow ...
IE4 gave me a bit of grief. Is your version working correctly?
Now running 4, 5 and 6 on XP Home
I have to drag 'n drop the files into 4 and 5, and no internet availability.
IE 4 files:
DISPEX.DLL
IEXPLORE.EXE
INETCPL.CPL
JSCRIPT.DLL
SHDOCVW.DLL
URLMON.DLL
MSHTML.DLL
MSHTMLWB.DLL
VBSCRIPT.DLL
IEXPLORE.exe.local
And does the location bar work for you? I'm trying to work that bug out. I've got those same files, and the location bar does not work... Everything else seems to, though.
Click anything in the location bar will open a new browser window of the desktop.
Open favorites sidebar and click on anything there will open a print window.
need to add DXTMFST.DLL and DXTRANS.DLL to IE5.5
