Hey guys, I'm new around here so sorry for my lack of knowledge about this site... not really sure if that'll make that much of a difference.

Basically I'm trying to set up an eCommerce website. The details aren't too important really. It's kind of an strange concept but that's not really the issue. While I've had experience with flash and creating some basic websites, I don't know enough PHP or any server side scripting to create my own shopping cart/eCommerce software. So I guess what I need is something like ready made scripts/full software.

I've looked at stuff like ashop.com.au, but it's far too restrictive. See I plan on making the site itself by myself. So the software needs to integrate easily into that, or I have to be able to build around it as much as I want.

I'm getting really desperate here so if anyone has any clue about what would be good to use, I'd be very grateful. There's only so far google can get you I guess :D

Anyways, thank you for any help anyone can give me!

It all depends on your needs, and what features you require.

Click Cart Pro is a good one with lots of features.

One thing I tend to do is recommend checking out what your hosting provider has to offer for a cart solution.

Typically they'll have a smooth setup option to make creating the cart easier than normal... Something you'll find extremely helpful if your new to carts.

If you cant find what they offer...drop the support crew an email and post that list back here of what they have for you.

Hi,

Are you looking for something which you can install in your existing web site, or are you looking for a turnkey solution?

If you are in fact looking for a turnkey solution, Id advise checking out http://www.codango.com/ and digging through there....you can check out screenshots and whatever to see if what they ahve is approximately close for what you want...

while ive never used it myself...ive heard alot of good things about oScommerce from eveyrone who has used it. You may want to consider checking that. If you're looking for help on custom coding one what are the requirements - what kind of stuff do you want it to do?

good luck!

Well Scriptage's suggestion (romancart) looks very appealing.

But I also found: Avactis Shopping Cart (http://www.avactis.com/)

They seem to offer a very professional version of Roman cart and it just requires some PHP tags. Their live stores also look very nice. I thought I'd post it up in case someone thinks this solution looks good for them.

123ecart and as_94: I was looking for something that would easily integrate into an existing website (thereby it being easy to use on any customized site).

Thanks for all the help guys. I'll definitely be taking on board some of your suggestions. When the shop is up (and that may take a while to be honest...) I'll post up a link so you can see how it went!

With that in mind, I think the best advice i have for you is to try out some carts until you find one that does what you want and can be tweaked to your tastes very nicely...good luck!
