How come I have been getting so much server lag lately when I visit this forum?

What do you mean by "server lag"? The pages are taking a long time to load? I haven't noticed a problem....

Can you run a traceroute? And see if the lag is at the server here to somewhere inbetween.

Sorry, I just came here and apparently a squirrle had just bitten my cable line or something like that lol. My speeds were below that of 56k, I had clocked it at dslreports.com. I was just in a little bit of cable lag denial / ignorance when I posted this. I called the cable company after my internet speed had eventually dropped to 10k and I could not load the website to do the chat support (buttmer) and they thought my modem was dead and were saying the grid looked fine and that they could not see my modem, then this mourning they left a message on the machine saying "oh yea there were some lines down in your area, we fixed them try it now".

I am currently getting a 1.68 mb/s dl speed so thats fairly decent speed. (My upload speed is capped at 300k, darned server hating nazis, so what if I waste bandwidth with a server grrr)
