Hello all, i'm new to all this website stuff. I just want to ask a couple of stupid questions. Does the keyword tag need to be keywords that are relevent to the content on the page and what about the description. Please help me by telling me where I can possibly go to read information on this and more. Thanks so much in advance.
By the way is there a tool of some kind to evaluate the content on a page and give me suggestions.

You'll want to keep your keywords and descriptions relevant if you use them. I can't see any reason you would use irrelevant keywords.
Honestly, search engines don't pay as much attention to these as they used to. Your title tag, page content and external links are most important.

Back in the day.... way back! when search engines Like Altavista was in it's prime. People would put as much as humanly possible in there keywords. Things that had no relivance at all even, just so people might do a combination that would work to have site visitors.
I remember a guy I knew who would put every adult content related word right in with his computer support related words...
This is also one reason why today sites like google will cross check those keywords against your sites content and if they don't match you can run into issues.
As far as a tool to evaluate or suggest words, I'm sure there are a couple however if you know your site and it's well written you should see those keywords without trying to hard.
Well written content is going to have a larger payoff than the keywords in todays search engines.
