When I start my computer, I have been getting a RUNDLL error-box that pops-up. It's text states "Error loading cmicnfg.cpl
The specified module cannot be found"
-Does anyone know what this is, or how to deal with it?
I recently installed a new soundcard. I had to remove some previous sound-card driver/s first, and this message has been coming up every since.
It is apparently not needed anymore, this "cmicnfg.cpl", but is being referanced somewhere. Is there some quick remove-from-HKEY or something that would remove this pop-up on start-up?
See attached image:
Perhaps this (http://www.daniweb.com/forums/thread25517.html) can help? I didn't have time to read the entire thread but based on the first couple posts it looks like it relates to your problem.
Hope that helps. :)

Perhaps this (http://www.daniweb.com/forums/thread25517.html) can help? ...
FIXED!
To fix: Start, Run, type in "regedit" (no quotes), and delete the cmaudio string from
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. This makes it so it will not run on startup and try to find the cpl file that was deleted during the uninstall or not installed correctly by the installer in the first place, whichever your case depending on when you started seeing the error. If your sound was working perfectly before this, you are done. ...
Described *exactly* what I had, and did. I had an onboard sound device that 'stopped working' when I installed SP2 (ARRG!! -Only realized like a month ago that I did NOT have this!!!).
New Sound Card (cheapie 16-bit, but we had NO sound at this point!) installed, working, -but with that pop-up dialaogue box..
Your suggestion worked. -Thanks!
Ooo! I actually helped? I almost forgot what that feels like... :p

Ooo! I actually helped? I almost forgot what that feels like... :p Oh stop it! :p You help. And thanks for pinning my usermap on my portal, -nice to see that someone took the time to view that behemoth. -I only installed one because Felgall has one (a better one, admittedly) on his site... :D I have got to update that crappy portal thing I call home. -First in order, -get rid of that 'string & ball' that chases the cursor... annoying as heck, that..
... And thanks for pinning my usermap on my portal ...Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool so I marked my territory. :p

Same problem as previous poster but there is no cmaudio string in the string you named. Also, ekiis path was not found and don't know enough japanese to find it on my own. Still getting error on startup. Ideas?
