Is there a place where you all go to get grahpics to put in your sample web pages? If so, please provide the site.
I am just learning HTML and would like to have some pics in my web page. Thanks
;)

Hi there,
So you're looking for images?
Well, you could do the simple Google Image search - go to Googles home page and at the top choose images and then type in your search you can organize the results by size which is helpful, same goes for Yahoo but most of their images are from flicker.
If you want royalty free, or images that are safe to use you could try some of these websites:
Getty Images
Webshots
Jupiter Images
Or if you have the Adobe CS2 suite you may have a program called Adobe Stock Photos
Also if you sign up SitePro News newsletter they provide all sorts of webmaster resources you could benefit from.
Hope this helps get you started!

While using photos from the web, one should make sure that he/she is respecting the copyright laws and must ask for the owner's permission before using any image in their work.

does that apply to all the images on images.google?
if an image doesn't have copywrites, could it's author demand taking the graphic down post factum?

The good thing about a google image search is it takes you directly to the website the image came from. If it doesn' have a copyright but you are worried anyway, most websites have a contact section and it doesn't hurt to ask if you could use it. If it is a personal image some people may think it would be wonderful to use it they may even be happy you were straightforward enough to ask and might even be pleased you liked their work enough to want to use. Some may not. If you contact the person and they say no, move on - if it's too much work to research, then go to a stock image place and buy an image - or take your own pictures to avoid all the hassle - I however, have had a ton of good luck on the web - you can too.

thanks for the info. problem is, the best photos always have to be paid for =) it's fair I guess.
