HI Folks,

Having recently brought a new domain with my host, I set up an alias with my old domain, so any people with my old address could get my new website.

However, when I search for my site using keywords in google, it keeps getting an old page from my old domain which has long been deleted.

Can anyone please tell me how I can correct this, so it picks up my new site?

I've treid resubmitting my new site too, but it hasnt worked.

Thankyou

It takes about six to eight weeks for Google to run a full spider on a website to refresh their cache.

If you submit a Google sitemap (https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/docs/en/about.html), they may crawl it sooner.

Are you getting a 301 re-direct to your new site when you type in the URL of your old domain. If that is the case it means that your old website isn't completely de-indexed from Google.Something relative has happened to me.I keep getting the SERP'S for five of my previous keywords. These keywords have been removed a couple of months back. What could be happening here is that the page of your ld domain could be stored by the spiders in their database and until and unless these spiders change their algorithms it will keep showing your old domain page.Once these spiders change their algorithms your old domain page will be automatically deleted.
